Question One: In a recent discussion with a couple of standup comedians the issue came up about social responsibility and the message vs. the messenger. There is the belief that as artists, comedians can & should share they’re opinions no matter how sexist, racist, ist..ist ist they happen to be. They are covered by some kind of comedic license and they should carry on and hate to their hearts content. On the other hand there are those who insist that one should be responsible for what emits from their heart and mouth and perhaps a career in politics would be a better fit for those who spew the hate; not the comedy stage.
